In today's competitive world, it is not easy to beat the higher competitive exams. However, primary education is everyone's right weather the person is a girl or a boy. If we talk about the women's education, then there are many families, which are below poverty line, and it is not possible for them to educate each member of their family. Since these below poverty line families are not educated hence each family contains 5 to 6 children, which prove to be a great cause of unemployment due to lack of money. When it comes to education, the first preference is given to boys. So, most of the girls are left uneducated, which creates lots of problem in their future life. Many single women in today's time are not even able to provide food and shelter to their children. The reason is simple as many single mothers are uneducated or have only low-level education. The other reason can be gender discrimination at their working place. The situation becomes worst for the women, who are divorcee, because such abandonment is considered as social stigma. Such women even cannot receive little sympathy like in the case of widow mother. Thus, educational grants for women are highly promoted by the government authorities to help them study and find better jobs.

Apart from the usual federal social security, one of the most important options for single mother is the federal food stamp program. Some time before this federal food stamp program had gone out of fashion and electronic card system was put forward. Now due to recession food stamp has come back. Other than this federal food stamp program, there is another option for low-income single women with family is housing programs usually run by federal government. Such program comes under section 8, housing choice vouchers program or rental assistance program, depending upon the person whom you talk. US department of housing and urban development (HUD) which has the aim to help American women in financial need and find economical places to stay organized such program. Many state governments also run educational grants for women programs but they are under the official federal program.

For short term, there are educational grants for women, which had saved many families from disaster. However, for the long term, the single women should find a good job, which usually need expensive college education in association with the degree of the course. Unfortunately, it is not necessary that every woman is having the degree of higher education. Therefore, finding such educational grants is also not easy without higher education.
